Military Packer Fans Will Get TV Coverage of Vikings Game

The allegiance to the Green Bay Packers isn't diminished by borders.

Fans serving in the military in Iraq will tweak their Armed Forces Network antennas and tune in to watch the Packers take on the Vikings in post season play at Lambeau Field Sunday.

They'll be numerous Packer fans staying up until the wee hours Monday because of the nine hour time difference.

Sergeant First Class Julie Friedman of Green Bay says some will watch from her office at their base in Mosul. Others will watch in their living trailers, or in what's known as the 'morale area' where there are T-Vs with satellite dishes.

Friedman writes that it'll be a good morale boost in general for any soldiers who have teams in the playoffs.

The Packers have donated twenty playoff tickets to guard and reserve units around the state.
