Plane Crash

The Barron County Sheriff's Department says shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday morning the pilot of the plane who was from Maple Lake, Minnesota was attempting to land at the airport, missed the runway, and went down in a picked corn field, collapsing the landing gear.

The plane did a belly skid for several hundred yards and came to rest in the field.

The pilot of the single-engine plane received only minor injuries, and his male passenger was not injured.
