Automakers have done a lot in recent years to get you to buy their vehicles. They give rebates and other incentives to make them stand out.
Now one manufacturer is offering something the others haven't. Volkswagen is giving out a free car insurance policy for a year if you buy a golf, beetle, or beetle convertible.
Sales Manager at Ken Vance Car CIty, Mark Boeck, says the promotion is only running in Wisconsin and Illinois. Residents with valid drivers' licenses in the stte are eligible. It runs through the end of March.
Volkswagen is trying to reverse a two year slump in sales. Boeck says VW sales at Car City dropped by about 30 from 2003 to 2004.
