NEW INFORMATION:
BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) -- A local teacher has been released from jail after she was arrested in school on Friday.

And a criminal complaint is coming to light, detailing allegations of the sexual assaults of two teenage boys.

30-year-old Andrea Ebert, a special education teacher at Rice Lake Middle School is charged in the assaults against the teens.

Both are students at Rice Lake High School.

The criminal complaint released from Barron County Court says Ebert admitted to having sexual contact with two boys in her home and sending one boy at least ten sexual text messages including naked photo.

Andrea Ebert made her initial appearance in Barron County Court on Monday.

She was read her charges, which are two counts of Sexual Assault of a Student by School Staff.

The complaint says Ebert had sex with two 17-year-old high school students, starting November 9, 2011 and ending January 31.

The complaint also says the married mom had sex or sexual contact with the boys in her homes in the city of Barron and the village of Cameron.

“Given the nature of the allegations, as you can understand it has a substantial effect on students and staff,” said Rice Lake School District Administrator Bill Conzemius.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Department said it was tipped off by a concerned citizen and arrested Ebert Friday afternoon at Rice Lake Middle School.

While some say this caused a lot of commotion, Rice Lake School District Administrator Bill Conzemius said it was carried out in a low-key way.

“Our Director of Learning went to her room and asked her to come into the middle school office. She went down to the school office and she was transported by police to the police department,” Conzemius said.

Conzemius said none of the alleged contact happened at school, nor is there any suspicion any middle or elementary school students were involved.

He said Ebert has been placed on administrative leave without pay.

“This is always tragic, always an enormous of concern for the victims. Also, this school district is a close knit family. What happens to one of us happens to all of us,” Conzemius said.

The district administrator said counselors are available for the alleged victims, staff and any other students who are having a hard time with the allegations.

Ebert has been released on a $5,000 signature bond.

She’ll be back in Barron County Court on March 22.

STORY FROM FEB. 3:

(WEAU) - A teacher is behind bars accused of child sexual assault. Deputies arrested a middle school teacher Friday afternoon at school. Now she's facing accusations of sexually assaulting a student.

The Barron County Sheriff’s Department 30-year-old Andrea Ebert of Cameron is in jail. Investigators say she's a teacher in the Rice Lake School District. Ebert is not charged, but the sheriff says she'll be in court on Monday.

The sheriff says investigators got a tip from the community on Wednesday and are still investigating. Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says Andrea Ebert works at the Rice Lake Middle School, that’s also where she was arrested.

Just before one Friday afternoon investigators showed up at the Rice Lake Middle School to arrest 30-year-old Andrea Ebert.

"This was a serious case and it's a tough case. We met with staff members to brief them because we took a teacher out of school today and created some commotion," says Sheriff Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald says a concerned citizen tipped them off about the crime and since then they’ve been investigating.

“Our detectives, along with the Rice Lake Police Department’s Detective, started working the case Wednesday night and Thursday morning. They were able to gather information from talking to different sources that led to talking with several students and that led to the arrest," says Sheriff Fitzgerald.

He says teachers and staff they talked with were in shock but he says right now none of the incidents appear to have happened on school grounds.

"It's multiple occurrences and talking with the school staff it's not a middle school child. There was some assumption out there that there was a middle school child involved. There wasn't an elementary or middle school child involved in this case," says Sheriff Fitzgerald.

He says detectives had to sort through a lot of rumors to get to the truth and says it's never easy for officers to deal with a case like this.

"Any sex case is tough. You really have to go back to a lot of them result in consensual or not consensual and it doesn't matter when they're juveniles. What matters is we take care of the victims first and stop the behavior and that’s what we did today," says Sheriff Fitzgerald.

Parents we heard from on facebook who know Ebert say they're shocked and others say they can't believe she would do anything like this.

We talked to Steve Bowman, the President of the Rice Lake School District. He declined to comment on the case.

We'll continue to follow the story and bring you the latest as it develops.
