Seiler Taking Life Step By Step

A year after Audrey Seiler faked her own kidnapping, her lawyer says she's getting help, paying restitution and focusing on the future.

Her attorney, Randy Hopper, tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that she is now getting counseling, working and picking up the pieces of her life.

Hopper says the Rockford, Minnesota, woman was suffering from depression when she disappeared March 27th of last year while attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was found four days later, after a search that cost Madison police about 100-thousand dollars.

She's doing her court-ordered public service for the Jacob Wetterling Foundation, a group that advocates for missing children. Its executive director, Nancy Sabin, says Seiler didn't cry wolf, she cried for help.
