May 8 will mark the 60th anniversary of VE Day, the day the Germans surrendered in World War II.
Area groups are asking you to celebrate with them at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport.
The Eau Claire chapter of the Experimental Airforce Association is hostin a hangar dance on Saturday, May 7.
There will also be WWII aircraft and vehicles on display throughout the day. Organizers say they want it to be a celebration of everyone who lived during that period.
"I don't think we'll be able to capture the spirit that people were feeling back then," says Tim Scobie, a member of the Chippewa Valley Military Preservation Association. "But hopefully we can do a little bit to help people remember that what we have today is because of the things they did back then."
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door with the proceeds going to support Eau Claire, Dunn And Chippewa County United Way organizations.
