The Chippewa Valley Technical College will be adding a new program that could provide a number of different industries with new tools to train employees.

The nine credit simulation application program will be a supplement for computer programming students.

The course would teach students how to build a simulation, which could be a video game, or a training tool for people in healthcare, avialtion or military fields.

"I've talked with some of my students who are military vets," says instructor Kyle Loewenhagen. "They said that they were bombarded with simulation type games and real life senarios to teach them what they need to learn on the battle field before they're put into harms way."

The Simulation Application Program will be offered starting in January 2006. A basic programming class is needed as a prerequisite, which is currently being offered.
