Jewish Community Gathers For Yearly Seder

On Sunday night, around 45-jews in the Chippewa Valley gathered for their annual Community Seder, or ritual meal.

The story of the exodous was re-told, and six foods, each of them symbolic, were eaten from the seder plate.

Passover lasts eight days, and is considered a celebration as well as an observance.

"It's a joyous holiday, it's a family holiday, the children all get to participate.," Temple Sholom Co-President Jaime Zighelboim said.

"It's still considered one of the major holidays on the jewish calendar."

Those who celebrate Passover won't eat leavened products like bread or pasta until the sun sets next Sunday.
