Sleep Study

Most specialists recommend people get eight hours of sleep a night, but some individuals can get by on a little less, or need a lot more.

Now a new study out of Madison says the amount of sleep people need is genetically programmed.

UW-Madison researchers say there is a gene that determines how much sleep people need each night.

A sleep disorder specialist at Luther Midelfort says the study shows why it's important to listen to your internal clock.

Dr. Dexter says people should try to stick to a set wake-up time all week long and then their natural bedtime will fall into place.
