What you are not understanding is the time a bus takes to burn. It takes less than 2 minutes to be gone. I as a driver of a school bus will not personally drive a bus or allow my children on a bus that has seatbelts.I know I could not get all of my children off of the bus safely if they were in a buckle in the case of a fire. And if I were injered and could'nt help them then what? I love the children I drive everyday and I could not live with myself if I put them in that sort of danger. The other issue for me is in the case of a roll over they could be stuck hanging upside down and not be able to get out to exit in a timily manner out of the hatches. I believe we could save lives with seatbelts in some situations but also in other situations we will loose lives.

people should be aware that it is safer to wear seatbelts on a school bus no matter what the price is. Kids need to be safe even if it costs us some money!

Hi! My name is Allie! I want to make a difference. I am going to start a fundraiser and donate the money to the bus company. I hope they will buy seatbelts. I am 11 years old. It will be difficult, but I am still going for it! A few days before the crash i said to my mom i might do it. Now that the crash has happened, I said I would go for it! Thank you! -Allie M.

It sickens me what this guy says, obviously the "padded" high seats did not cushin the childrens heads when they slammed into them because the bus TIPPED over. If they were restrained they all would have still been in there seats. Including the numerous children who were injured. VERY SAD!!!

I couldn't believe this Fey guy commented about the seat belts. The first thought came to my mind when I read the story that these kids could have been saved had there been seat beals installed on the bus.

Can you believe this guy Fey? Seat belts can be dangerous because firefighters would have to cut people out, and they could be weapons. Come on, seat belts in cars have saved thousands of lives. But if we believe this guy, we should be cutting those belts out. And anti-lock brakes are dangerous because they could be used wrong. And airbags are dangerous. Maybe we should take brakes out of cars because people might slam on them and skid. Or perhaps remove headlights because they might blind oncoming motorists.
