THE VERY LATEST: Still no sign of missing plane in NE Minnesota

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Air and ground crews in northeastern Minnesota have resumed their search for a pilot who has been missing for more than a week.

Lt. Col. Paul Hertel of the Civil Air Patrol says the search continues for pilot Mike Bratlie and his Piper PA-31 Navajo plane. Bratlie departed from a South St. Paul airport on June 8 heading to the Duluth area.

Hertel says the search effort has been difficult because the area where they're looking is heavily wooded .He says adverse weather Saturday afternoon may limit the use of search aircraft.

Hertel says crews from Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois are focusing on the Silver Bay area, where radar last detected the pilot. The crews are also rechecking leads that were called into mission base.
