WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) -- A 72-year-old semitrailer truck driver escapes injury in the crash of his vehicle and a freight train in Waukesha.
But police Lieutenant William Graham says the collision severely damaged the train engine and sent precast concrete from the truck onto College Avenue.
Graham says the semi driver was delivering the load of concrete to a construction site this morning when he backed its flat bed onto the tracks.
He says the crossing signal activated at that point, but the driver couldn't get off in time and the truck was struck by a northbound Canadian National Freight train.
