A newly-released report shows legendary Green Bay Packers receiver Max McGee was investigated by the FBI.
Records released under the Federal Freedom on Information Act show the FBI dropped the case because of a lack of evidence.
The agency had been looking into McGee's alleged involvement in illegal gambling after his playing career was over in the early 1970's.
McGee died in October at the age of 75.
He fell off the roof of his home near Minneapolis.
FBI files become public record once a subject has died.
