Heavy snow followed by heavy rain may have collapsed the deck outside a Door County home onto the homeowner, killing him.
Sheriff Terry Vogel says a woman from the town of Forestville called his office yesterday just before 6 p.m. to say she couldn't find her husband and the outside deck had collapsed.
Emergency personnel found the body of the 63-year-old man under the deck.
A preliminary investigation showed that a heavy snow accumulation followed by heavy rain Sunday night may have figured in the deck's collapse.
The victim's name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
