A popular misconception is that small towns can't compete for businesses with larger cities...
And sometimes have struggling economies.
That doesn't seem to be an airtight argument in Ladysmith.
According to Rusk County Development Director Andy Albarado business has been booming there, especially in the town's industrial park over the last decade.
Now his job isn't just to recruit businesses to the area, but also to bring in workers to fill a growing number of jobs.
"I've had a few businesses come to me lately and ask me to try and bring in more skilled workers to the area to help fill openings they have," he says.
Albarado adds the main industry in Ladysmith is timber related goods and many of those businesses have contributed to the growth in the town's industrial park.
