An American Wood Fibers executive says the worker who lost his life in an explosion and fire at the Schofield plant Friday was the father of four young children.
Vice president Tom Frank did not identify the man. Frank says both the man killed and another worker who was injured were near the area where the explosion occurred.
Fifteen workers were finishing the night shift when the explosion and fire ripped through the plant about 5:30 a-m.
Frank says the plant's multiple safety systems were inspected a month ago.
He says three of the eight building in the complex were destroyed and another was partially damaged. Frank expected damage to exceed a million dollars.
