Gov. Doyle has approved almost $150,000 for projects at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport.
The first project involves a feasiblity study to research expanding the terminal building. Possible options are additional seating space, and boarding bridges to shelter passengers boarding the aircraft.
"The phase two study is very important for the terminal building," says Jerome Thiele. "That study will finalize the layout of the terminal building, how large of a terminal should we build, should we build new, should we add on?"
That decision is expected to be made later this fall.
The other project will be to design improvements to the pavement outside of a few of the north hangars.
The governor's action allots more than $74,000 for the projects to be funded by the state.
