WEAU-TV announces the launch of a new, local morning news program hosted by Judy Clark beginning in January, 2006. The program will emphasize community, regional and state issues and will air weekdays from 10-10:30am immediately following the Today Show on WEAU-TV. The half hour program will include a news segment updating stories both locally and nationally.
Guests from a wide array of backgrounds will appear live on the program with Judy, and viewers can ask questions through e-mails delivered to a specific e-mail address. Additionally, the program will be simulcast live on weau.com; the first daily program streamed live on the internet in Western Wisconsin.
Reporters from other news media outlets and from the NewsCenter 13 staff will be invited to appear with Judy on the show to interview guests. The topics will be timely and relevant to events of the day.
Judy is rearranging her hours at WEAU-TV which allows her to be part of this new program. She will continue to appear on NewsCenter 13 at 5:00pm, and then co-anchor NewsCenter 13 at 6:00pm with Chris Earl.
WEAU-TV General Manager Jason Effinger says the program is yet another commitment to local news and community affairs.
“Viewers over the decades have chosen WEAU-TV for their news and information, for which we are thankful. “NewsCenter 13 Today” is yet another way to better serve our community and Western Wisconsin.”
TV-13 was the first television station in western Wisconsin to broadcast
a 5:00pm newscast (1981), debut remote live mobile broadcasting capability
(1983), launch the first weekend early evening newscast (1993) and the first to begin an early morning newscast (1993). An exact date for the beginning of “NewsCenter 13 Today” will be made soon.
