Attendance was down in the Janesville School District during the weekend for a makeup day for a snow day during the winter.
The district's director of human and administrative resources, Steve Johnson, said attendance Saturday was 68.4 percent, compared with 93.8 percent on a normal day.
Johnson says it was also down from 74.4 percent on another Saturday makeup day held April 13.
But he says district officials are pleased that many parents saw a need for their children to come to school Saturday.
High school and middle school students attended for two hours in the morning, while elementary students came in for five and a half hours.
