The music program at the Chippewa Falls Senior High School is about to get a financial boost.

On Monday, the Greenhalgh Memorial Music Endowment Fund will makes its first grant of more than $4,000 to the program.

The co-chair of the fund says the money will help the school purchase equipment for the marching band.

The fund was established in October of 2005, after Chi-Hi Band Director, Doug Greenhalgh, died in a bus crash on I-94 near Osseo.

It helps provide financial support for the activities of the music program at the high school.
