An elderly Arcadia couple died in a highway crash while in Trempealeau County for Mother's Day weekend.

The couple's daughter and son-in-law, who were visiting from Kenosha, were also in the vehicle and were critically injured.

Eighty-four-year-old Evelyn Kokott died in the head-on crash on Highway 93 in the town of Arcadia Saturday night. Her 91-year-old husband, Alphonse Kokott, died Sunday.

Relatives say the couple had been married for more than 60 years.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department says a third vehicle was involved in the collision, but no other details were released.

Relatives say daughter Sharon Jackson and her husband, Ted, are hospitalized in critical condition.
