With today's economy, many college students say they're worried about the job market.
But a recent survey says it might not be as bad as it looks.

Director of Career Services at UW-Eau Claire, Jeanne Skoug, says there's an 8% increase of hiring college graduates from last year.

That's according to a survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, also known as NACE.

Many college students we talked to today say they're always thinking about the state of the job force.

Many college students say it's always in the back of their minds....the job market.
From seniors to even freshman, it's always a concern.

Freshman Kalan Stittleburg says, "I'm still undeclared and so I consider what I want to major in by the chances there will be a job there when I graduate."

But one college senior, Elise Quamme, says she already found her job, back in November!

Elise Quamme says, "It's my dream job, basically it's working with a company that's very well off."

Quamme says she was obviously worried about finding a position.

Elise Quamme says, "Everybody worries about it, no matter what you're going into or what your past experiences are until you know for sure you have that job and you sign the contract."

And credits her internship to helping her land that dream job.

Elise Quamme says, "That gave me the experience that I needed and made me realize the sooner I started looking the better job I'd probably get."

In fact, Skoug says the NACE survey shows 97% of employers look for work related experience when hiring.

Jeanne Skoug says, "The ones that have jobs are probably the ones that have had internships."

And if you're struggling to find that perfect job, Skoug says there are a few helpful tips.

She says researching the company you want to work for, is a big help while writing a resume or going to an interview.

Skoug says staying in contact with a potential employer is also a key so you can begin networking.
