Burglars who stole cash from an Oshkosh cafe and bakery likely never knew the havoc they were creating for area brides and grooms.

Even Bob Heisler, owner of LaSure's Cafe and Bakery, wasn't too concerned when he learned of the break-in early Tuesday. He knew he only had petty cash in his safe.

Then he learned the whole safe was taken. He says his wife just about screamed.

In addition to the petty cash, the safe held every contract for every wedding cake for this summer and the next.

The Heislers write every order by hand as they have for 30 years, and the list is not on a computer. The detailed process includes specific drawings and requests for each of the nearly 250 wedding cakes they prepare each year.

Now they're trying to reach the customers and match the cake orders to the right couples, but it's a big job.
