Dodge County authorities are looking for one or two people they believe were burned while trying to steal fuel from a salvage business in Beaver Dam.

Sheriff Todd Nehls says he is not sure how many people tried to siphon gas from equipment at Wally's Auto Salvage.

But he says there's evidence that at least one person was burned, possibly on the arms and upper body. He says it's important for the person or people who were injured to get medical care.

Nehls says a fire appears to have broken out before the thief or thieves got much gas. He says hot equipment could have caused the fire.

The sheriff says gas siphoning is still rare in Dodge County even with the rising price of gas.
