WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) -- A mother given a second chance by a judge after her child died while she was high on methamphetamine has been arrested again.

Everest Metro Police records say 26-year-old Jessica Kasten of Wausau was arrested Wednesday night and cited for drunken driving. Records say her two children, ages 2 and 3, were in the vehicle.

Kasten was sentenced to 10 years probation in April after she pleaded no contest to child neglect causing the death of her 6-month-old baby in 2007.

The mother told investigators she slept for about 18 hours after taking methamphetamine. The baby died of asphyxiation in a bassinet.

Police records say Kasten's blood-alcohol level Wednesday was at least 0.11 percent. The legal limit to drive is 0.08 percent.

How competent is this judge to even think that this woman would just kick the meth addiction? He entrusts her two children to her care even after the death of one child. This is beyond my comprehension.

I think our judical system needs help. I'm sure she was an exceptional Mother, before the Meth charge and after,......NOT.

Again I say, you need a license to drive a car, but any idiot can have a child????? You know, there are plenty of people out there that are trying to have children, but can't, then there are people that have children that should not!

What's the magic number of children you have to kill before a judge does what he's paid to do? Disgusting. This time she not only put her child in danger, but the children of any one of us that drive on the streets.

Second chances were not what was needed in this case. Why wasn't she committed to a Rehab Clinic?

What were they thinking? She already had one child die because of her neglect, but lets give her another chance. How stupid!! Then she puts her other children in harms way and only gets 10 yrs probabtion. What a joke. I sure hope that this woman can never reproduce again!
