I am sorry to hear that this has become an issue again. As a graduate of Menomonie, I would like it to stay the Indians. That is a proud name. Not all native americans appose this, just like not all are for it. Please apply reason to your decision, not sterotypes. I love the Menomonie Indians.

WOW... THAT'S a broad, sweeping generalization backed-up, no doubt, by factual research. What gives you the right to generalize about an entire people the way you have? Your statement is utterly stunning in its ignorance.

I use to be a strong advocate for schools to hang on to their legacy by retaining their school logo. Preveously, the Indian represented a great warroir that withstood challenges with strength and dignity. The logo, after all, should also represent strength, committment, determination, and drive. The demeanor of today's native americans no longer meet that criteria and therefore are not worthy of representation of the legacy of Menomonie High School. From what I've seen and read, todays Native Americans appear to represent alcoholism, drug use, and crime. I suggest that to uphold the legacy and perseverence of Menomonie Schools, you choose a more dignified representation for a logo.
