State Committee Approves Election Reforms

A state committee approved reforms that would have felons sign a document saying they can't vote as soon as they're released from prison.
Also approved was a new check box on voter registration cards where legal voters would swear they're not criminals.
The reforms stem from reports that there were 4000 more ballots cast in Milwaukee County last November than there were voters tallied at the polls.
Hundreds of votes were cast by felons.
The package now goes to the Wisconsin joint legislative council and from there to the legislature.
