Hitting the Road on Thanksgiving

Highways and airports will be just as busy as you'd expect this Thanksgiving holiday.
AAA estimates that more than 37 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this holiday, about a 1 percent increase over last year.
In the Great Lakes region, which includes Wisconsin, about 6 million people will drive. That's slightly smaller than last year's number. AAA speculates that might be because of gas prices, which currently average $2.31 for a gallon of self-serve regular gas.
Peak driving times are expected to be between noon and 8 p.m. on both Wednesday, Nov. 23, and Sunday, Nov. 27.
Average prices for hotels and rental cars are up one to three percentage points over last year's prices.
