THE JUNEAU COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT SAYS THE HUMANE SOCIETY IN NEW LISBON REMAINS CLOSED, AND AN INVESTIGATION INTO ANIMAL NEGLECT AND MISUSE OF FUNDS CONTINUES.
NOW CLARK COUNTY'S HUMANE SOCIETY IS DEALING WITH SEVERAL OF THE ANIMALS TAKEN OUT OF JUNEAU COUNTY, AND IT'S STRETCHING THAT SHELTER TO ITS LIMITS.
AS OF TONIGHT, THE SHELTER IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF FOOD AND MONEY TO HELP OFFSET EXTRA VET BILLS. THE SHELTER MANAGER SAYS THE RESCUED KITTENS ARE RECOVERING FROM RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS AND RINGWORM. SOME OF THE CATS WILL NOT BE READY FOR ADOPTION FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. SOME OF THE DOGS, HOWEVER ARE READY FOR ADOPTION. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN HELPING THE SHELTER, OR ADOPTING A PET, GO TO THE CLARK COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY'S WEBSITE AT WWW.CCHS-PETSHELTER.ORG OR CALL (715) 743-4550 TO FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. THE SHELTER IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS, PLUS PURINA DOG AND CAT FOOD AND MONETARY DONATIONS TO HELP SUPPORT ANIMALS RESCUED FROM JUNEAU COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY.
