Rice Lake House Fire

ONE WOMAN WAS HURT IN A HOUSE FIRE IN RICE LAKE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. FIRE CREWS SAY THE BLAZE STARTED JUST BEFORE THREE ON THE EAST SIDE OF TOWN.
TWENTY FIREFIGHTERS WORKED ON THE FLAMES, AND WERE ABLE TO GET INTO THE HOUSE THROUGH THE BASEMENT. BUT FIREFIGHTERS TELL US THE FEMALE LIVING THERE DID MAKE IT OUT OF THE BURNING HOME AND TO HER NEIGHBOR'S, SHE DID SUFFER FIRE-RELATED INJURIES. SHE WAS AIRLIFTED TO A HOSPITAL IN ST. PAUL. HER CONDITION IS NOT KNOWN AND THE HOME IS A TOTAL LOSS. FIRE CREWS SAY $200,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE WAS DONE AND IT TOOK 13,000 GALLONS OF WATER TO DOUSE THE FLAMES. THE CAMERON FIRE DEPARTMENT ALSO HELPED FIGHT THE FIRE. THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION.
