Wisconsin's highway death toll for this year has already topped last year's total, with today and tomorrow still to go.
But, state roads were a safe place to travel over the holiday weekend.
Only two people died in crashes over the official Christmas holiday from Dec. 23 to Dec. 26.
Officials from the State Bureau of Transportation Safety say if the number holds, it'll be the lowest in 20 years.
They're crediting cautious driving and common sense while behind the wheel.
But for the year, the number of fatalities is at 791. That's seven more than last year.
