About half of kids eating school lunch get their meals for free or at a reduced price because their families can't afford the full price.
This summer, Wisconsin is one of seven states that will be in the Simplified Summer Food Program, a program that makes sure kids continue to get lunch in the summer.
But, it needs sponsors:
Sponsors can be:
•public or private non-profit schools
•public or private nonprofit residential camps
•local, municipal, county, tribal, or state governments
•public or private nonprofit colleges or universities that participate in the National Youth Sports Program
•Upward Bound Programs
•Private nonprofit organizations (under special conditions).
