Now value added agriculture is helping operations turn a profit in today's market. The 8th annual Midwest Value Added Agriculture conference took place January 27 and 28 to help farmers become more business savvy.
"For this conference, we're focusing on customer relations and building a customer base and knowing how to market a product," said Heather Flashinski.
There were exhibitors offering products and tips given on how to diversify a business with new products.
Farmers looking to start from scratch also benefited from entrepreneurs' advice at the conference. About 200-people showed up.
