State narcotics agents are investigating the infiltration of some high-grade marijuana from Canada.
A drug network is suspected of bringing the marijuana across the Canadian border and into Wisconsin in trucks, such as garbage trucks that frequently cross from Canada to Michigan.
The National Drug Intelligence Center says the shipments are frequently 200 pounds or more. The US Justice Department says that's double the size of typical drug smuggling from Canada.
Federal court records say the marijuana is sold for $3,500 to $4,000 dollars a pound compared with $500 to $750 per pound for marijuana from Mexico.
