Packers Management Discounting Favre's Retirement Comments

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson says he hasn't seen Brett Favre's ESPN interview about the quarterback's future. But, Thompson said today it doesn't sound too much different that what he heard from Favre during a visit last week.

Thompson says a decision over whether to return for a 16th season is one Favre has to make with his family.

Favre tells ESPN that he still hasn't made up his mind on whether he'll return next season -- but if he were forced to make a decision now, Farve says he would retire.

Since the season ended, Favre says he's wondered whether he could commit himself entirely to the game.

The MVP quarterback says he never thought he'd give out mentally before he did physically.
