An Eau Claire man is charged with 25 counts of possessing child pornography. 42 year old Mark McElwain will be in court Thursday.
If convicted, he may face 75 to 100 years in prison for what investigators say are 25 images he stored on the computer at his parent's home.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice investigated the case before forwarding charges to Eau Claire County District Attorney Rich White.
"It comes to us by happen stance information comes from individuals in other jurisdictions about acts on the internet. In this case it was an individual from Eau Claire County," White said.
According to the criminal complaint, McElwain printed numerous hard copies of the photos and sent 20 to 25 images to his email account.
The computer was seized as evidence.
