The state republican chairman says that could change soon.
He says he's still got his requests in with former Governor Tommy Thompson and Tim Michels, an unsuccessful candidate two years ago.
Thompson says he'd be more likely to run against Democratic Governor Jim Doyle than Kohl.
Michels says he'll make his decision soon.
