In a news conference yesterday, Eau Claire police officers say they're still piecing together Friday morning's murder of 29-year-old Joseph Weisenbeck.
Weisenbeck was stopped at a traffic light on Clairemont Avenue with some friends and had a conversation with the car next to them. Someone asked where they could find some beer.
Further up the road, at the intersection of Clairemont Avenue and University Drive, Weisenbeck and the driver of the other car, Yeng Moua, got into a fight and Moua stabbed Weisenbeck once in the chest.
Police say it will take some time to understand all the details of the case.
"It's an extremely extensive amount of work that goes into these investigations. We have a lot of things that we have to process, to send to the crime lab, a lot of investigative things that we have yet to work on,” says Lt. Tom Golden.
Weisenbeck's friends drove him to the hospital after the attack, but doctors pronounced him dead at 1:38 in the morning.
