The state says north central Wisconsin is about to get more park-and-ride lots.
The Department of Transportation has established almost 100 of the lots throughout the state, but only three are in north central area around Wausau.
Now the agency is exploring 30 possible sites on key commuter routes in the region.
The lots provide places for people to meet and carpool to their jobs, saving fuel and reducing traffic.
Transportation officials say that with high gasoline prices, there's more interest than ever in the park-and-rides and where they are located.
