Minnesota Vikings players are due in training camp today as talk swirls about a possible trade for Brett Favre.
The Green Bay Packers have filed tampering charges against Minnesota for alleged inappropriate contact with the quarterback, who retired in March but now wants to play.
Defensive tackle Pat Williams arrived in Mankato last night. He says he's "ready to ride" with quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. Williams says Jackson has gotten better in the offseason and he has a lot of confidence in him.
Receiver Bobby Wade says he's had no offseason conversations about Favre joining the team and he likes it that way. Wade says he wants to -- quote -- "focus on what's real to us ... and not what could be and what might be."
But veteran cornerback Antoine Winfield says he would welcome Favre. He says a trade would be a great move for the Vikings, but he's not sure whether Green Bay would give the legend to a division rival.
