A 16-year-old is dead after a truck crash Monday morning.

The Barron County Sherriff’s Department says 16-year-old Marcus Miller of Rice Lake was driving north on 14th Street near 17th Avenue, north of Barron.

His truck went off the road and rolled several times. He was flown to a hospital in the Twin Cities.

That's where he was later pronounced dead.

Miller would have been a junior at Rice Lake High School this year.

Football practice was cancelled Monday out of respect for Miller, who played for the team. He also played for the varsity baseball team.

Rice Lake High School provided counseling for students and their families today and will again Tuesday from 8am until Noon.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Colleen, Chelsea, and Molly. I use to watch all three kids when they were younger and to hear this happened to a wonderful respectful family is so sad, my heart goes out to all of you! God Bless!

Something so sad to hear this, when i knew him as a child. I played with the girls at their dads, Mark was proud of his lil boy, and it sad to hear a friend suffer in the loss of his son. Prayers go out to Mark, Colleen, Chelsea and Molly and the Miller and Moe families. God needed a baseball player, and he got a good one! Rest in Peace our dear friend

Thank you Colleen for sending this message to the kids. Life is so precious and can be over in a minute. Marcus will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Marcus Miller was my son. In memory of him, my request is to please always wear your seatbelt and do not text on your cell phone while you are driving. Marcus will be sadly missed by his mom and his sisters Chelsea and Molly.
