A bomb squad disposed of a grenade found in a vacant house Thursday.

Sergeant John Zimmerman with the La Crosse County Sheriff's Department says a call came in Thursday morning that a live grenade was found in a house.

A realtor was cleaning the house and found it in the basement.

Zimmerman says deputies went to the second avenue house and found the grenade in the garage where the realtor had put it.

No other weapons were found by police and Zimmerman says the neighborhood is safe from any danger.

There's no word on who left the grenade in the home.
