A plane crashes into a resort, leaving two student pilots on board with severe burns.
The University of Dubuque says two student pilots were on board the plane. The University says the students are juniors Cory Alsip from Illinois and Grant Vogt from Dubuque, Iowa.
The Grant County sheriff says it happened around four o'clock Wednesday afternoon in Cassville, about 30 miles south of Prairie du Chien.
The sheriff says the plane crashed into a tree and several buildings near the airport and then burst into flames. The fire then spread to two cabins at the Eagle's Roost Resort, destroying one and and causing extensive damage to the other one.
The two people on board the small plane were flown to the UW hospital in Madison. The FAA is investigating the crash.
