Former Eau Claire School District Superintendent Bill Klaus is requesting a public hearing in front of the School Board. Klaus' attorney, Tom Guelzow, says Klaus is requesting an open-door, public hearing because he wants a chance to tell the Board and the public his side of the story.
Last month, the Board of Education suspended Klaus from his position as Northstar Middle School principal. That unpaid suspension will last until June.
The School Board decided he'll then be transferred into some sort of administrative position. That decision came after three months of investigation and 13 closed session meetings.
The Board was trying to figure out if there was any wrong doing with how Klaus' contract was written and backdated. It would have allowed him to receive retirement money earlier than expected.
