Tommy Thompson May Run for U.S. Senate

Former governor Tommy Thompson is publicly mulling over his decision on whether to return to the public arena.

Speaking to the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association yesterday, Thompson mused about whether he would challenge Democratic Senator Herb Kohl in the November election.

Thompson won four gubernatorial elections in Wisconsin, starting in 1986. He resigned in 2000 to join the Bush administration as secretary of Health and Human Services.

Last month, Thompson decided not to challenge Mark Green for the Republican nomination for governor.
