Four people were taken to the hospital after their SUV rolled over

It happened just after 6:30pm Thursday on Highway 8, just west of Barron.

An 8-year-old boy was thrown from the vehicle.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department says the 48-year-old driver, along with a 33-year-old passenger and two children, including the boy, were taken to the hospital.

All four were from Rice Lake.

Two dogs that were also in the SUV were taken to the Barron Veterinary Clinic.

The crash is still under investigation.

So there is new light to the case... We found out last friday Ms. Kuula was fined for having open intoxicants in the MV. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Of course, Barron county denied me a emergency custody placment hearing telling me I was Over reacting!!! Then they threatened to throw me in jail if I didn't give the kids back! So there it is, the wonderful justice system at it's best!! I don't have a record she does! I can't get my kids, I have talked to 7 lawyers and all WILL NOT take a case in barron county! How Ironic! What is a man suppose to do? Of course Ms. Kuula will get off scotch free just like last time! Hopefully I won't have to bury my kids next time!! Thanks Barron County for looking out for the best interest of the children!!!!

I agree!!! Lack of parenting skills!!! These were my kids tht were in the accident. Their mother has a long history of doing unwise things. She should have checked his seatbelt. The story also doesn't tell you that the driver had no license! What kind of mother would let an individual like that drive her family? Unfortunatly I have been fighting for my kids for years and Barron county keeps awarding them to their mother! Just goes to show you that the court system is screwed up! She has already been up for child neglect and child endangerment for drinking and driving with the kids! I have no record yet I am not able to gain custody! My kids should be with me! What is it going to take to get the court system to do what is in the best interest of the children?? I almost had to bury my kids! Not fair!!!!

Where does it say that they were texting or not wearing seatbelts? Don't make assumptions. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

i happened to see the accident scene, it wasnt pretty, on scanner they called for helicopter and everything. Ever since rice lake and barron co invested in a helicopter, its used atleast 2 times a week if not more. Too many one car rollovers. I dont text while driving, and i think that is what is causing most of this. where they rolled, unknown how. BE CAUTIOUS DRIVERS your not just putting your life at stake!!!!!
