Former Assembly Speaker Scott Jensen is pleading his case today.
>
Jensen is trying to stay out of jail while he appeals his criminal conviction on four charges in the capitol corruption case. The Waukesha Republican has a hearing scheduled in Dane County Circuit Court on the issue.
>
He is due to start serving his 15-month prison term July 15 after being convicted by a jury following a three-week trial. He later resigned from his assembly seat.
>
Judge Steven Ebert is scheduled to hear from Jensen’s side and the prosecutors who want Jensen to start serving the prison time rather than remaining free on bond.
