Local Police Departments Get Help Fighting Internet Crime
State grant money will help police find Internet child predators

Police in La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, and West Salem are among those in line for state grant money to help fight Internet crimes against children.

Leaders of the Department of Justice plan to hand out more than $34,000 for forensic work stations, computer equipment and software. Members of a task force within the department arrested 120 alleged Internet child predators last year, a 315 percent increase from the 2004 figure.
