Alisha Sidie's sister told WEAU 13 News Saturday night that investigators say Alisha's body has been found and her missing persons’ case is now a criminal investigation. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department confirms Doug Sidie has been arrested for murder. Investigators say the Wisconsin State Crime Lab from Wausau is back on scene, and is processing more evidence.
Tammy Rowlee says investigators told the family the tragic news at 8 p.m. Saturday night. Rowlee told WEAU 13 News "she's (Alisha) no longer with us." Rowlee says the family is in shock. The only thing Rowlee says they were told was they found Alisha's body, deputies did not say where, and that it was a crime. The family says the sheriff's department has not told them any more details, as not to impede the investigation.
Sergeant Pat LaBarbera tells WEAU 13 News that the twin boys are in state custody as of Saturday night and that Doug Sidie has been arrested on suspicion of first degree intentional homicide. Investigators tell WEAU 13 News Sidie's body was found in a desolate area in the eastern part of Jackson County. Investigators say she was not found in the water and they are not releasing details about her manner of death.
Alisha Sidie, from Hatfield, was the mother of twin 2-year old boys and worked at a chiropractic clinic in Black River Falls. Sidie's former husband, Doug, told investigators she walked away from the home they shared after they argued on Friday, November 7. He reported her missing Saturday, November 8.
