Some homes had to be evacuated after a gas leak on Monday.
It happened on the corner of Fay and Franklin Street in Eau Claire. Eau Claire Fire and Rescue says Public Works Personnel were working to clear a storm sewer when their equipment hit a small gas line. Homes on the 400 and 500 block were evacuated as a precaution. Crews from Xcel Energy were called in to repair the gas line.
The homes were then checked and the people who lived there were allowed back inside.
